Goran Dragic Leads Slovenia to Victory
Ljubljana, Slovenia – Slovenia defeated Serbia 93-85 in the final of the FIBA EuroBasket 2017 on Sunday to win their first European championship title. Goran Dragic led the way for Slovenia with 25 points, including a clutch three-pointer in the final minutes. Luka Doncic also had a strong game for Slovenia with 13 points.
Serbia mounted a late rally in the fourth quarter, but Slovenia held on for the win. Bogdan Bogdanovic led Serbia with 22 points, while Miroslav Raduljica added 17 points.
The victory is a triumph for Slovenia, which has never won a major basketball tournament before. It is also a special achievement for Dragic, who was named the tournament's MVP.
